The PWMOMC Clothing & Toy Sale will take place on April 12, 2008 from 8am to 1pm at the Prince William County Fairgrounds in Manassas.

Sale includes infant/children’s spring and summer clothing/shoes/accessories, baby & children’s equipment, toys, books, movies, maternity, household goods & more! There will also be a vendor sale and bake sale on site. Admission is free.

April 12th: University Park Children’s Clothing Co-op Spring/Summer Sale

Olney

University Park Children’s Clothing Co-op Spring/Summer sale will be held on Saturday April 12, 2008 from 10am to 12pm at Riverdale Presbyterian Church, 6513 Queens Chapel Road, University Park, 20782. Quality “pre-washed and gently worn” clothing for children from tots to preteens will be available. Featured will be seasonal items, summer clothing, rain wear, books, toys, play equipment, baby/layette equipment and maternity items. Cash only.

The calendar has been back up and running since Friday and thank goodness no entries were lost!!!

I started posting a few fun library events in Ashburn.  Leave your comments for any other local events and I will get them up on the calendar!

So, after adding a ton of local events, the Google Calendar I created got hosed up!

For some reason the calendar will no longer load into Google and I cannot access or edit it at all.  I don’t know if it will come back to life, so I am going to not delete it for now since I put so much work into it. grrrr

I guess this is a good lesson to learn to back up my calendar so I can always create a new one and import in all the calendar entries *sigh*

I’ve created a new Google Calendar of Events. As much as I LOVE the current plug-in that I am using to display events, I just may switch over to utilizing the Google Events calendar.

We love to visit the Hidden Pond Nature Center.  The Center is located in Springfield, VA off Old Keene Mill Rd. DS is always on the lookout for ducks and if you get there before 4pm (although their website says 5pm…), the staff and student volunteers will happily show off all the animals inside the Nature Center. DS even got to pet a turtle!!

The nature center, which is accessible to everyone, features exhibits and live displays which orient you to the park and the natural world of Fairfax County. In addition, the center has a small sales area featuring books and other items for the nature enthusiast and nature study areas for group visitors. Complementing the nature center are stream side and woodland walking trails, a self-guided nature trail and a one-acre pond. The park also features lighted tennis courts and a children’s play area.

I made these cookies with heart-shapes and pink icing during Valentine’s Day, but they can obviously be used for anytime of the year with your favorite cut-out shape! DS and I had a blast making them. I let him help me make the dough (not so coordinated yet for cutting out!) and DS gave out a very loud YUMMY!!! while licking the dough from the spoon!

This recipe is taken from the show Nigella Feasts on Food TV. I used Wilton Icing Colors to color the very easy to make icing.
